Cutting the ribbon

Our new West Country hub is situated in the very heart of this community-minded and friendly town; Blue Sky Fostering couldn’t be luckier.

Preparing with cake and cheer!

On the day of the launch the team got together in the morning to fill balloons, arrange bunting, and make up trays of cakes. We then set up our Blue Sky Fostering gazebo outside the hub so everyone would know how to find us easily!

We handed out free cakes from local bakery Marshalls Bakery all around Royal Wootton Bassett in the morning, before the hub started to fill up with staff, foster carers and the local community.

Bringing Music

We were lucky to have Becky and Anna from New College in Swindon perform beautifully on the sax and guitar throughout the event, with fellow student Olivia singing ‘Blue Sky’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful World’ after the Mayor, Councillor Pat Farrow, cut the ribbon.

Composing a Cry

The Town Crier, Owen Collier, also composed a lovely cry for us, which he performed in town as well as in the office! We were welcomed by the local Headteacher Hilary MacMeekin of Noremarsh Junior School and were able to give a big box of cakes to take back for the teachers.

It was, quite simply, a lovely day. Thank you to everyone in Royal Wootton Bassett for making us feel welcomed. We are so pleased to be joining such a wonderful community and are looking forward to continuing to make a difference for foster carers and young people in the West Country from our new hub.
