Blue Sky’s Decade Club Celebration

Here at Blue Sky, we're proud to have Foster Carers that have been fostering with us for 10 years and more, and we thought what better way to celebrate them, by inviting them to join our Blue Sky Decade Club!
In the first of what will become an annual celebration, our Foster Carers were treated to a three course lunch and gifts at the Fisherman’s Haunt near Christchurch. The Foster Carers who have supported many children, teenagers and parent and child foster placements over the past decade and beyond, were asked to nominate a Blue Sky staff member who had the biggest impact on them during their fostering journey, to join them for the celebration lunch along with the founding members of the agency, which was established in 2005.
It was a celebration of the dedicated Foster Carers and staff who are committed to changing the lives of local children and young people. Our CEO Simon Lockyer says about the Decade Club:
“We hold regular events for our fostering families, but we wanted to do something extra special to acknowledge the continued commitment of our longest serving Foster Carers who have changed the lives of so many local young people over the years. Our Foster Carers are fully committed to making a difference to the young people in their care, and this is best demonstrated by some of the stories they’ve shared about the positive outcomes of those they have cared for and continue to care for. Fostering is a life changing experience, so I am immensely grateful to everyone who has taken the leap to join the Blue Sky family over the past 13 years.”
