At Blue Sky we believe we can make a difference not just as a foster care agency, but by playing a role within our local communities too.
Sophie's Legacy was created in memorial of Sophie Fairall, who died of cancer aged 10. Before Sophie died, she worked hard to achieve the dreams on her bucket list. She also wanted to change a number of things nationally and wrote these on her bucket list to be achieved in her memory:

Sophie's Legacy will be delivering Advent Calendars to children in all the hospitals they support this year. And they are hoping to have some special guests to help deliver them, and put a smile on the children's faces!
They are also collecting toys and gifts for the hospitals which they will deliver before Christmas.
If you are able to donate an Advent Calendar or gift to one of our offices that are donation points [Ringwood, Romsey or Portslade-on-Sea], please do, and we will bring them to Sophie's Legacy! Alternatively look at further donation points on their website.
Sophie wanted the following things changed and this will be her legacy in memory of a remarkable young girl who touched so many lives.
We first heard of Sophie’s Legacy from one of our foster carers, after the charity supported her when her child ended up in hospital. Initially, we planned on supporting them by sponsoring a pizza night at the local Queen Alexandra Hospital in Hampshire. Our Senior Operations Manager, Katie Sell, and Director of Operations, Nici Crisp, went along to the hospital to give out pizzas to the parents of children in NICU, Starfish, Shipwreck, Children’s Assessment Unit and Children’s A&E.
It was a very rewarding experience being able to help; Katie says, ‘The parents were so grateful for the pizza, and especially so when they realised that they did not need to pay for it.’

Our Senior Operations Manager, Katie Sell, and Operations Director Nici Crisp, deliver free pizza to families at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Hampshire.
We are now proud to become an official donation point for the charity, at both our local Ringwood, Romsey and Portslade-on-Sea offices. Do you live nearby? Then please do feel free to donate any of the items on the shopping list opposite, and we will ensure that they are brought to Sophie’s Legacy, so that families in hospital are given the extra support that they need.

Around a year ago, Blue Sky began supporting the charity, Kids Matter. They are a charity close to home, aiming to help strengthen families that may be struggling, working to help keep them together.
"Look at us. We’re changing the world." Lucy has been fostering with Blue Sky Fostering for almost five years. During that time she has fostered teenagers, as well as had some children stay for respite. She now fosters a 12-year-old boy who has become an integral member of the family unit.
