Blue Sky Fostering Celebrates Outstanding Rating from Ofsted

We are absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news – our recent Ofsted inspection has awarded Blue Sky Fostering an Outstanding rating across the board! This is our sixth consecutive Outstanding rating and is a huge achievement. We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing work of our foster carers and dedicated team.

This outstanding inspection report highlights what we have always believed in – that every child deserves to feel loved, safe, and supported. It shows how our fostering families go above and beyond to provide exceptional care for the children and young people we support.

Feedback from the Ofsted Report

Ofsted’s report praises the high level of care and support our carers provide to their young people, as well as the strong relationships they have with the children they care for. Blue Sky foster carers are described as “highly skilled and committed,” with our young people feeling safe, secure, and nurtured in their care.

Ofted say: Staff are creative in helping children and carers understand risk through training, workshops and individual support.

The report also highlights our thoughtful approach to matching children with foster carers. By considering each child’s individual needs, we are able to create stable, long-lasting matches to our carer families who instil stability, love, nurture and consistency into the young peoples lives. This in turn creates a platform for our young people to achieve their potential, whatever this may be.

Ofsted say: Meticulous matching of children with their foster family and well-planned moves into the home help ensure children are embraced into the family.

Foster Carers: The Heart of Blue Sky

Our foster carers are at the very heart of everything we do, and it’s clear that Ofsted recognises the huge impact they make. The report mentions how our foster carers are incredibly patient, kind, and dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential. Whether it’s supporting a child’s academic goals, nurturing their artistic talents, or encouraging them to pursue their passions, our foster carers are always there to offer guidance and care.

Ofsted says: Children say that they really value the variety of events and trips provided.

A big part of what sets us apart is the way Blue Sky prepares our foster carers with relevant training. We offer a variety of training, including trauma-informed parenting. This means our foster carers are well-prepared for the challenges they may face and can respond with the right support and understanding.

A Therapeutic Approach

One of the things that makes Blue Sky Fostering so special is the therapeutic support we offer. The report highlights how our bespoke therapeutic services – including individual support workers and clinical practitioners – make a real difference in the lives of children and carers alike. We understand that many of the children we care for have experienced trauma, and we are committed to offering the right support to help our young people heal and grow.

Ofsted say: The agency directly employs therapists and indiviudal support workers who provide bespoke therapeutic packages of support to children and their fostering families. Foster carers are trained in therapeutic approaches. They benefit from regular meetings with a therapist to help them deliver therapeutic parenting. The family's needs are constantly reviewed and the enhanced support that the agency provides helps them through difficult times.

We also have a great track record in supporting parent and child placements. Our foster carers take an open-minded approach to working with young parents, helping them develop the skills and confidence to care for their child, all while keeping everyone safe and supported.
